How Unreel collects, uses, protects, and shares information when you use our app.

Unreel helps people discover books through reels-style short-form content. This policy describes the information we handle when you create an account or use the app.

1. Information we collect

Account information

Because Unreel requires sign-in, we may collect your name, email address, username, and profile picture. This information may come directly from you or from a sign-in provider such as Google.

Usage and analytics data

We collect details about reels viewed, content liked, saved, or shared, and time spent in the app. Firebase and Google Analytics may also provide app usage, crash, performance, and device data.

Device and technical data

  • Device type, operating system, and app version
  • Anonymous identifiers and diagnostic information
  • Advertising identifiers, including IDFA where available

2. How we use your information

We use information to:

  • Create, maintain, and secure your account
  • Personalize book and content recommendations
  • Support features such as saving and sharing reels
  • Improve app performance and the user experience
  • Understand usage patterns and service trends

3. Data storage and security

We use Firebase services to store and process data and apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Data sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Google AdMob for advertising services
  • Firebase for authentication, analytics, and storage
  • Authorities when disclosure is required by applicable law

5. Data retention

We keep information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your data by contacting us.

6. Children’s privacy

Unreel is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we learn that we have done so, we will take reasonable steps to delete it promptly.

7. Advertising

Unreel displays ads and uses services including Google AdMob. Advertising providers may process device identifiers, IP address, and app interaction data to provide personalized or non-personalized advertising.

On iOS, we request tracking permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. If you decline, you may still see non-personalized ads. Read the Google Privacy Policy.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area or California, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Contact us to submit a request.

9. Third-party services

Our app may use:

  • Google Sign-In
  • Firebase Authentication, Analytics, and Storage
  • Google AdMob

Each provider handles information under its own privacy policy.

10. Permissions

Unreel may request storage access when needed for features such as saving or sharing content.

11. International users

Unreel is available worldwide. Your information may therefore be processed or stored outside your country, including in countries where our service providers operate.

12. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as our services or legal obligations change. Updates will appear on this page with a revised effective date.
